The Klamath Basin Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon will hold a bare root tree and shrub sale Saturday, March 23, 2024, 9:00 AM – Noon at the Klamath County Museum, 1451 Main Street, Klamath Falls.

The Klamath Basin Chapter will offer 1,000 low-cost bare root native tree seedlings and shrubs to the public. There will be 100 seedlings for each of the following plants;

  • vine maple
  • big leaf maple
  • serviceberry
  • twinberry honeysuckle
  • Douglas fir
  • white oak
  • cascara/bearberry
  • red currant
  • Douglas' spirea
  • snowberry

Plants will be sold for $2.00 each. The majority will be 12” – 18” stems, though some will be smaller (6” – 12”).

Because the trees are bare root, they should be planted as soon as possible.

Check out the event flyer which has hyperlinks to specific information for each species on the Oregon State University Horticulture's 'Landscape Plants' website.

OSU Extension Service also has a helpful webpage on 'How to select and plant bare-root native plants' if you're unsure whether bare root trees and shrubs are for you.
